you can give dogs rib bones IF they are uncooked. Giving a dog any cooked bones can cause splintering and splinter in the dogs intestines or esophagus walls, and this will lead to serious problems even death. Beef bones are the best raw bones to give, I feed raw so mine get any kind they want uncooked and prepared right there is always risks as well as feeding certain dog foods, but i have fed raw for 10 years and have never had a problem Feed raw and not cooked.

No. Rib bones splinter. So do pork and chicken bones. They can choke on them. The best bones are Beef leg bones and ham center bones. also they should be cooked or they can get the taste of blood and this will make them more like hunters and crave raw meet. but just stick to bones you can buy at the pet stores not what you cook and make sure you give them very hard bones. So they last a long time.

Raw or cooked? Either way it depends on the size of rib and dog.You don't want to give a big dog a small rib they might chock. One thing you need to watch when you cook bones they become brittle that is why they say not to give dogs bones from your meals.

it's not really a good idea- ribs are not very strong bones and your dog will probably crunch it into lots of sharp pieces that he could swallow and hurt himself. I only give my dog the femur bone, which I get at the grocery store for a whole lot less than the ones at the pet store.

Dogs should never be allowed to chew on ANY bone that has been cooked. Raw beef bones are fine, but NEVER pork or chicken and NEVER any bone that has been cooked (boiled, baked, barbequed, etc.) as cooked bones may splinter and get stuck in your pet's throat or puncture their innards.

YES.
It would be a crime not to allow your dog to chow down on this scrumptious item.
Do not let anyone convince you any different. I have an old as dirt dog and he loves them and is extremely healthy and happy. I did learn the hard way years ago not to give him cooked chicken bones. However, pork, beef and lamb are fine.
Just no cooked bird bones as this will sliver and possibly cause choking.

a dog can chew on rib bones ONLY if he or she dosn't eat food so quickly that there is no time to chew.
my rottweiler pup eats his food so fast that he doesn't even chew his food comletely, that's why i don't give him bones.
if your dog is like mine, don't give him or her rib bones, if he isn't like my dog, he is ok to eat rib bones
