In the last few hours my cat has been going absolutely ape ****... running around sliding all over the floor and pawing at her litter box. I got her as a stray and have recently found out she is pregnant... but shes not newly pregnant. she is very large in the belly and her nipples are huge. If any one has any ideas please share...

I would watch her closely sometimes animals get a burst of energy right before birth she might start looking for a safe place to have the kittens. My first indoor cat that had kittens spent a good time of the day racing up and down the stairs.Just keep an eye on her if she starts doing other strange things you might want to take her to the vet.

She may be getting close to delivery. Get a box and put a blanket or sheet in it for her to do all that insanity to to mold and form into the perfect nest for when she delivers her kittens. When he kittens are born you may have a problem if she was a stray for too long. You want to handle the kittens and have them use to your voice. You want to handle them as much as posible. This makes them good friendly cats. But if she was a stray for too long she may go nuts and try to run away after giving birth and refuse the kittens for you handleing them. I would say it's better you handle them then she turns them into nut cases.

Good Luck,.. and the delivery will start while your asleep, really super relaxed in another room,.. or not even home.

Chances are she is looking for a good place to have her kittens, and pawing around her litter box is normal behavior. I would maybe get a decent sized box with comfortable blankets in it and see if she is interested. I would also call the vet about how to help the cat with her birth (if that is what is happening). Well, good luck!

she is just stretching and being playful at the same time.
at times, cats need to have some alone fun time to be playful to get all the stress out of the system.

(she will have her kittens around 60 days after mating, so have a big box and some warm blankets that the kittens won't be able to crawl out of, but so that she can easily walk out when she needs.) GOOD LUCK WITH THE KITTENS.

Sounds like your about to become a grandma, she needs a box that is out of the way so she feels safe. Put old bedding or towels in it for her and remember this could take several hours before it's over so be patient and don't stress her.

She might be giving birth soon especially since her nipples are huge. My cat went crazy the night before she had her kittens and wouldn't stop meowing loudly. She was also very restless. Make sure you have a "nest" ready for her and good luck!

you said you got her as a stray, so maybe she's just a little scared because she's in a new environment. And she is going to look for a place to give birth so maybe you should give her a box or a basket and place it in a dark corner or somewhere so she would feel safe and give birth there :) blessings to your new pet baby kittens :)

go find her a big box and put some blankets or towels in there and see if she wants to go in it. I have a feeling she is looking for a place to have her kittens.
