I think it is wrong to over-indulge in drinking alcohol.

No. I drink rarely, nothing beyond wine, and can't stand the smell and taste of alcohol. But I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Alcohol is no worse than smoking (and no, I don't smoke either), and only excessive consumption of alcohol will lead to problems. It mostly depends on the brain of consumer whether alcohol will be antisocial. If the drinker is stupid enough to drink too much, he or she is probably stupid enough to do a lot of other bad things, all of which you can't possibly forbid by religion. Btw, as for the religious point of view on alcohol - not sure. You can call a sin just about anything - from wearing jeans to using internet. Whether it'll make sense is another story.

This depends on a lot of things what may be wrong for one person may be okay for another person. I am a christian and I don't drink. My sister is a delivered alcoholic and she doesn't drink, but I know a few christians that drink wine or whatever. I believe the Holy Spirit would convict your heart if it was wrong for you. I believe it is wrong to get drunk.

One of the things that can be take from Bible stories is not do something to excess. Drinking alcohol is not a bad thing. Drinking alcohol to excess so that you do not have control over your behavior is. Drinking alcohol in front of your children is not necessarily a bad thing. If the only time your children see you having fun is when you are drinking alcohol, then it can be a bad thing. One must be responsible when drinking, not only of their own actions, but if they are a role model for someone, they need to take that responsibility seriously.

It's not wrong to drink in moderation. In other words, have a couple of drinks. It's wrong to get drunk and lose control of your reasoning. If you drank so much that you can't drive, then that was wrong.

Jesus did turn the water to wine, not grape juice like some denominations will try to tell you. You could find plenty of verses that talk about wine (alcoholic wine) in the Bible. Just do a search on it.

It is not wrong to drink alcohol. But drink it in moderation but addiction to alcohol will not be right.

Quoting the Bible:

Titus 2:3
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.

1 Timothy 3:8
Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain

Ephesian 5:18
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery.

Hope this help.

God bless

Yes i do think it's wrong and to smoke ciggarettes also our Pastor also gave up drinking mountain dew because he drank a lot of it and part of the reason he says not to do these things is it hampers your relationship w/the Lord. I do drink diet coke and I do confess it is something I'm hooked on, I drink it like some people drink coffee in the morning to wake up and also a little pick me up in the late afternoons.

No.

Ps 104:14-15
14 He makes grass grow for the cattle,
and plants for man to cultivate--
bringing forth food from the earth:
15 wine that gladdens the heart of man,
(from New International Version)

Although He does say that He is opposed to drunkeness.

Moderate use of alcohol in a surrounding where you are unlikely to stumble any other person who might have a problem with it is not wrong. Jesus would not have turned water into wine as his first miracle nor would Paul have recommended it to Timothy for his stomach if it was.

no. i know of christians who do believe that, but personally i think it's rediculus. on the days of feasts God said to his people drink and be merry. Jesus turned water into wine, not "grape juice" i mean come on people, grape juice didn't even exist back then!!!! and what about the last supper? he drank wine then too!!! there is nothing wrong with a little alcohol. but overdrinking is wrong, first of all because the bible says do not be a gluttun, and second, because our body is a temple, and overdrinking damages your body, which is like defacing a church (since we ARE the church)

i hope that helped, God bless, and merry drinking!

I am not Christian but as far as I know it has been prohibited to drink alcohol in Bible. I think it is very wrong to drink alcohol because it is the cause of horrible things, and the only benefit we can get can also be achieved with drinking grape juice.
