I'm hoping to buy something that will seem expensive and good, but for under $35, hopefully.

This is simple.

As a Scotch drinker of course we like Single Malt when someone else is buying but it's really not necessary.

Here are a few brands you should consider that are in your price range.

Glen Levit
Chivas
Johnny Walker - any color label
Dewars

These are all very good choices. Any respectable person would be happy to receive a bottle of one of these. They are listed in order of what I would buy. This is only my opinion.

Merry Christmas!

Scotch is so touchy... A lot of people don't like it, and those that do tend to be picky.

Compass Box Asyla is around $40 for a fifth, comes in a distinctive bottle, and is the best blended scotch you'll ever find. But, some people turn their noses up at the thought of blended (dunno why, because there is good and bad of both), so get at your own risk I suppose. But let me repeat, this stuff is great. Quite light, dry, sweet without overdoing it, and extremly drinkable. You know how you sometimes see people grimmace after taking a drink of scotch? It will never happen with this. If your boss isn't alredy an avid scotch drinker, this is your best bet. If is he is, it is still an excellent choice.

So, that's my vote for the scotch. If you decide not to go the wa yof scotch though, I would like to try an persuade you to grab him something unusual, like absinthe. The legal variety, please! Try it, and make sure to tell him to take it with some sugar. Absinthe is a bit to bitter to drink plain, imo. Very good, and something he won't have.

when you consider which you stated he desires to start eating scotch, i could stay faraway from Islay scotch. those malts are many times smokier and peatier than others and are extra favourite by employing pro scotch drinkers. to start up, i could advise a Speyside unmarried malt. My well-known that includes ideas could could desire to be Oban 14 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous. This retails for around $a hundred so it somewhat is going to likely be on your funds. even with the undeniable fact that i'm no longer somewhat a follower of the full unmarried malt scotch form, while giving scotch as a recent, blends do no longer somewhat have a similar wow element as unmarried malts. If it have been merely an off-the-cuff element i could say merely %. up a bottle each and each of Chivas Regal and the properly-properly-known Grouse and that they are going to style merely as solid.

Oh my. Be careful. Scotch is a touchy subject with some connoisseurs. Especially if the a re from Scotland or the UK.

Best to find out what he likes and go from there. You wouldn't want to insult him.

Be careful; as Scotch is not something that everybody likes!

If you insist on buying it, I'd ask a senior member of whatever store you shop at!
