My bf of a year recently got a new job 200 miles away.I am graduating college in May , we have talked about me moving out there to be together. He seemed excited and even talked about the future like marriage. Recently he has been overworked and stressed at his new job. He has distanced himself from me and thought about quitting .He has often talked about having depressed feelings because of it. Ive tried to support him and constantly tell him that I love him and Im there for him. Two weeks ago things were going alright and I texted him and told him I loved him but I havent heard anything since. I was so worried that something tragic had happened that I called his work,I was told he was in a meeting so I know hes alive. I wonder, is he over worked and depressed or does he not want to be with me anymore? I thought that he would atleast call to break up with me seeing that we've been together for a year and things were very serious. Im very confused&would appriciate any incite .

There's no way for us to know if he's telling the truth, but I think it's quite likely that he's overworked. Unfortunately, that is not so uncommon. You should keep trying to get in touch with him to find out why he's acting like this. Maybe he's depressed, or maybe the burden of the distance is getting to him. The semester is over, so I think you should go to visit him. That way, you will get more reliable information (you can see his face as he tells you things) and you will get to visit with him and make him feel better. 200 miles isn't that far; you have about a month break for Christmas, don't you? Good luck!

your man now lives in the "real world." The demands on his job is stressing him out apparently. Being 200 miles away can put a strain on any relationship. The thought of "shacking up" and marriage is not a a good idea at this time. Give your man some space to deal with the impending issues he has before him. Since you're graduating, you too have to figure out what you want to do with your education. Maybe he is depressed and confused, which gives you more reason to "chill out" and let him call you in the meantime. Being with someone long distance for a year, really doesn't constitute a "real" relationship, it takes time. Therefore consider him a friend and be there for him when he calls...

Maybe, he did something disloyal to you, maybe not cheated, just kissed someone else? Told someone else he liked her?
And now he's so guilty that he doesn't want to talk to you because he's afraid he will have to tell you and have you leave him.
But, then again, if his job is so stressful, maybe he is depressed, my advice is to finally get a hold of him and talk to him, see whats upsetting him. He probably needs help.

As painful as this is you are going to have to give him some space send him an email every now and then but make sure you do not over do it. He needs your support but make sure you don't smother him. Stay strong. Ask him if he wants you to come visit. depression is a *****. help him

Might be overworked, might be screwing someone else. Move on. Long distance don't work.

your boyfriend could just feel fustrated with work and dont want to burden you with it, or he has found someone else and doesnt know how to tell you because he really cares about you.
