Back in the day, there wasn't much international communication, so individual communities developed their own languages separately from their neighbors.

Nowadays, it is economically beneficial to speak in a common language. There are a few lingua francas that people speak in common: English worldwide, Spanish in Latin America, Russian in Eastern Europe and Northern Asia, etc. Many languages are dying out, like Irish Gaelic, because the people would rather know a useful language and not be associated with a background of poverty.

However, many other languages are still alive because their speakers have great pride in their culture. Icelandic and Scottish Gaelic come to mind. And not everyone in the world speaks English, because most people can get by in life without it.

Languages have sprung up independently since man started speaking millions of years ago. Mostly, the diversity of languages is a nice edition to the world and keeps life interesting and beautiful. I personally like learning languages and do not see them as a barrier.
You might be interested that in 1886 a Polish Jew by the name of L. Zamenhof tried to start a new language under the psuedonym of Dr. Esperanto. This is mostly a romance language, and he tried to make the grammar regular and the vocabulary self-explanatory.
People actually speak this language, although it has never gained widespread popularity. I am leaving a link where you can learn Esperanto if you like.

Hey Lawman, first-class query... Umm... how might the arena be specific, eh? As a lot as I am tempted to intent approximately how it isn't feasible and the way it might ultimately result in evolution of specific dialects of the identical language i.e. present day english and eventually to progress of more moderen languages; I might stay inside the confines of creativeness that you've offered- Firstly, we might be having a phrase for each unmarried factor. As there might be plenty of men and women finding out the identical language, the pursuit for excellence might be taken to a larger stage. The grammar and vocabulary might end up very elaborate on the grounds that while guy does not have a lot to do, he begins to complicate matters. The fields that might advantage essentially the most might be technology and technological know-how; there might be no have got to bridge gaps among 2 our bodies of talents. The talents might be further to the earlier present database in a scientific and geared up process. So, at the same time the language gets difficult and elaborate, technology will end up less complicated. In standard, men and women will likely be much less reluctant to begin conversations. The primary worry earlier than you utter the primary phrase to a stranger is of the answer- "Sorry? I did not get you." (Which may also be in any language adding English). So, you can pay attention plenty of blah-blah round your self. The global will likely be a noisier position. Music- one might count on, might stay untouched, however I do not feel so. Most pop track lyrics at the moment include an excessively small database of phrases. Overuse of cliched expressions in tune might both result in evolution of revolutionary patterns or a collective disinterest in tune. Literature is greatly established at the neighborhood delusion and tradition; there are specified expressions which are misplaced in translation. Since, there would be the identical language around the globe from the very starting, I count on, there might be a unified mythology which might result in a restrained line of notion; finally main to very dogmatic suggestions of evil and well. Tolerance might cut back. People might be quick tempered. The F-phrase might end up much less stunning. Basically, range might be misplaced, and vigour of the language might be misused.

God confused the languages at the Tower of Babel. Of course it would be easier if the whole world spoke the same language, hopefully English then I wouldn't have to learn a new language.

I would not wish to surrender my individuality by being forced to speak just one language. Each different language teaches a history, teaches a culture not like our own, it is a window by which the hearts of different people are open to those of our own.
