I am 21 and pursuing my education. My parents and friends are constatnly asking me why I don't have a boyfriend. I tell them I don't want one right now. They are constantly suggesting guys for me to go out with. I just am not ready. Is there anyway I can tell them to get the message across without being rude but firm?

Of course it's OK. Education is the most important thing for you right now, and rightfully so. Tell them firmly to stop trying to set you up with guys — either way, you would have no time for them. Really, if they haven't given up already, you have to be a little rude. Add that you don't need a boyfriend, anyway. If you did, you would have gotten one yourself already.

I would just tell them that you aren't interested in finding the right guy until you are finished with your education. Tell them that you don't want to be worried about a relationship until school is over.

Yes girl it is ok. Live life the way you want. you are a strong woman for living it on your own terms. We are programmed by society to have a boyfriend, then it's "when are you getting married?", then it's "when are you having a baby?", then it's "when are you having another baby?" We do things out of programming and I admire you for doing this your way. I did things the way society and family expected and I regret it.

say "i appreciate your concern, but right now this is what I want. when i am ready to date, i will let you know" I am 30 and do not have a BF because i want finish my teaching degree and really do not have the time to date. Kudos to you. you are only 21. you have plenty of time to date when you are ready.

assure them that you do want it someday but are not looking for it at the moment. let them know that if it happens it happens but no one can force you to love a certain person. it has to come from your heart. the only one that knows how you truly feel is you. don't let anyone tell you who to love. let your heart guide you. and if they have opinions, accept them as that. thank them for trying and let them know that when you find the right person you will let them know.

ask your parents to read this, plus you might not like guys, that's not what I'm saying. you have the brain enough to get what has to be done, get your schooling done and get going. the only thing depending on you----there is no such thing----its a short life--be happy.
