In my opinion, respect is not merely a feeling, but more a decision. The respect I choose to show others is not contingent on how they treat me. It's a decision I make in accordance with my own personal convictions.

In spite of what they deserve, from me (90% of the time) everyone gets respect and kindness because EVERYONE is fighting a battle.

But I do have those days when.....well :(

It depends if they do things that deserve respect. They might be considered disrespectful if they talk back to their parents or teachers or something, and then they give money to the homeless and give clothes to charities or something. I don't like your question, it's sort of vague.

Of course they do. "Any" is an extreme word, just like "always" and "never".

A disrespectful person may not deserve the respect afforded in kind words and gestures to a person who reciprocates the same in kind, but they would also not deserve being shown a lack of respect for their human rights, their life, liberty, freedoms, physical safety, and so forth.

I think that's the wrong quesiton.

I think the question is, do I give disrespectful people the power to make ME become disrespectful?

Ad, yeah, sometimes I'll slam them.

If they don't give it they don't get it! Respect is earned by giving and people who disrespect others don't deserve it.

It's best for respectful people to respect EVERYONE. Because if we start to withhold respect from some, we'll be tempted to pick and choose whom to respect.

It's just a better policy in the long run.

And besides, respecting some people is best done by just walking away, right?

Be good!!

If you don't want to be disrespectful as well .....two wrongs still don't make a right.. Good judgment says t you teach best by
setting a good example even if ignorance usually sets it first.

peace out...
