Planning on going in July, and we only have 6 days to spare. is 3 nights rome, 2 nights venice enough?

And any recommendations for where we should stay and what we should do?

I spent 10 days in Italy, and it's never going to be "enough"! Italy is such a beautiful country with incredible art and museums and shopping and sightseeing. (Oh, did I mention great food?)

In Rome, be sure to see the Sistine Chapel & the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps (great shopping nearby), and the Colliseum.

In Venice, see St. Mark's and the Ponte di Rialto (Rialto Bridge), then wander and get lost for as long as you can and take an ultra-touristy gondola ride, just for the romance of it!

Well, 6 days are not at all enough to visit both.
You should concentrate and visit only one town but I consider 6 days are not enough for Rome and too many for Venice.
I don't know which are yr specific interests but if I were you I would consider to spend these 6 days staying in Florence and taking this opportunity to visit other sites of Tuscany in the neighborhoods. I guess that you'll have further opportunities to come back to Italy after this first trip and if in future you extend the lasting of yr visit then it will be yr time to visit Rome, Venice, Naples, etc.

I don't think it's enough time... You should stay at least 5 or 6 days in Rome, 2 days in Venice, 3 days in Florence. It would be nice if you were able to go to Costiera Amalfitana and then to North Sardinia too. There are too many things to see in Italy, it's a wonderful country!

Oh there are a brilliant number of places that are dazzling for a honeymoon. i'm going to throw out some innovations: one million. Venice: i in my view do dislike vacationer traps and Venice is actual chock finished of them. however the city is so beautiful it purely does not rely. I spent 5 days right here as a backpacker and saved thinking to myself that if there became into one city in Italy that my spouse and that i could pass to at the same time, it may well be Venice. Days journeys are obtainable to Padua and Treviso. i might provide this a thumbs up if vacationing exterior of the summer time weigh down months (July and August) as that's purely too crowded. A accomodations would be complicated to return by using and costly. 2. Positano: Spent a week there with my spouse in a dazzling B&B overlooking the sea. 0.5 the time we did not even pass out to devour, somewhat we've been given a bottle of wine, cheese, bread and olives and spent the night on our veranda. city is lovable and the seashores are dazzling. Day journeys to Amalfi and Capri obtainable. that's an spectacular place for the relaxing/romantic sea coast honeymoon (It is likewise kinda on the element of Napoli and Pompeii). 3. Syracusa: Spent 10 days there with the spouse in December. Rented out a very good condominium interior the previous area of the city for fairly low-fee. The crowds are long gone interior the iciness, yet city is open. Christmas there became into super, as they submit a extensive tree interior the main piazza. Even interior the iciness, the climate there is temperate and extremely relaxing (plus in December, they have their buyer saint's pageant, that's surely a distinctive element to verify). in addition they have spectacular archeological websites, which contains the classic roman theater there.

Hi,

For your honemoon you'll never get enough days! :-)

If 6 days is what you have I would suggest to use it all in Rome.
You could take some daytrips to the nearby towns as Frascati e.g
(It's a very romantic place...).

What a rush job-stay at the very least ten days. Just the flying back and forth is such an ordeal for only five nights.
