If you're going that big you would be much better off with the new Mitsubishi DLP. Those huge plasma and LCD HD sets are much heavier than they seem and cost a ton. The DLP in that size are much lower price and have a better picture. The picture looks better in the store because they don't have proper lighting. You notice a huge difference at home. They also don't have their TVs at optimum settings. They seem lighter and brighter at the store, but once you get it home that light and bright seems horrible.

The best Plasma right now is the Pioneer Elite series tv. For a 60" tv you don't want a lcd because the picture quality won't be as good as a plasma.

I am sure there will be many opinons here, but I would choose the Pioneer Elite 60" Plasma myself.

However there are many things you will need to consider including personal preferance. LCD's do a much better job not reflecting glare and plasmas are much more rich in color.

I went with DLP 61" Samsung TV. Seeing that, four of my friends got DLP TVs too. We all are happy with our choices. I suggest you look into that. They now have TVs with LED bulbs that do not need to be replaced.
