I'm not really affiliated with any religion, but I hear so many of my "unattached" brothers and sisters on here talk about how Christians and others constantly push their religion on them.
I don't mean any disrespect (because I don't know any of you personally), but I think if you're a mature adult, you can say "No" to drugs, sex, salesmen, doctors, and religious folks.
Who knows, maybe I'm just lucky, but I don't think ANYONE has ever gone beyond their bounds to get me into their religion. And that goes for JW's and everyone else.
If your experience is different, please let us know how, so we can learn from your problem.
Thanks in advance!

I'm glad I asked this question.
I didn't realize so many felt it in the governmental and community sense.
Thanks for the fantastic answers all!

Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

I am a christian and I don't think you ever have to push your beliefs on someone. I have a lot of people ask why I am so happy even though some very bad things have happened to me ,and that just opens a door. I want people to know Jesus because there wouldn't be so many depressed and suicidal people in this world (although a lot of you are going to say christians commit suicide etc etc) I beleive if I live my life for God people are just curious and want to know about my faith. Plus I pray a lot for people to come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I have had trouble with JW. And, ''holier than thou'' Evangelical Christians have tried to get the laws and the Constitution changed in the USA, to benefit their viewpoints. This is a complete violation of everything America is suppose to stand for. This infringes of the rights of every American.

But why are you pushing your beliefs on us? Your belief is that everyone should just live out their lives the way they want, and you are trying to push that on all of us. Can't you see the hypocrisy?

If you live in America, christians are pushing their religion on you. They're making it harder to get birth control, contriception, and basic health needs for women because their religion thinks that having more kids is better than having a life of your own. They're keeping me and other atheists from running for office in many states, including my own. They're trying to take science out of the schools and replace it with their own superstitions.

I live in the Southeast US, more affectionately known as the Bible Belt. I run a liquor and wine store, am heavily tattooed, and pierced. NOT A SINGLE DAY GOES BY, that I don't have someone attached to a christian denomination (without provocation mind you) either telling me that they'll pray for me, attempt to preach to me, hand me gospel tracts (even more fun are the ones who go to eat and leave my gf a Chick tract instead of a tip, because working on Sundays is a sin...) , interrupt me when doing yard work around my house to pray with them (on Sunday), etc. etc.
Honestly, the majority of those who impose themselves and their faith into my life come from one of three groups:
Baptists (who will buy and drink liquor, but not speak to each other in the store). I prefer these because they will stop when you ask them too...for the third time.
Born Again Christian Hippies (who begin their "christian fellowship rant when I won't give them free wine for communion)
Fundamentalists...the one's who give most christians a bad name.
Sorry, but its much easier to turn down a drug dealer than it is someone who's made it their life's work to "save souls".

I don't really even know the religions of most of the people who knock at the door and try to sell me salvation or whatever the H-E-Double hockeysticks they call it; I know Jehovah's Witnesses is one of them but that's it.

Anybody can tell you whatever they want to as long as their rights don't take priority over yours. However, if they tie you up, pour battery acid on you, or cut your throat and make you confess to Allah, THEN I would say they were REALLY pushing their religion on you!!
