English - the earliest form (Old English) is known to have been in England for sure in the 5th century AD and possibly even earlier, whereas the Romance languages are said to have become distinct from Latin in approximately the 9th century AD - a full 5 centuries later. Earlier versions of Spanish fall under the category of Late Latin. The first Spanish grammar was printed in 1492.

Depends on what you mean. English changed completely due to invasions by the norse and french while Spanish developed as a sort of latin slang. Spanish is much closer to Latin though then English is to its originally Celtic beginnings.

All languages are continually changing. Both of these languages evolved from earlier ones, and from earlier forms. The way people speak English today is not the same as the way people spoke it centuries ago, or even 20 years ago. Same with Spanish. So both languages are continually new. There is no "first".

they are both derived from the same language..latin, as are italian and french. Spanish is closer to the original than english, so it may have evolved first.

I think Spain was before England (Spain was called Hispanola under the Roman Empire) but I'm not sure which language developed first.
