Oddly enough, I found the freebie that came with the treatment system worked better than the system itself. I got "okay" results with proactiv but nothing better than my regular exfoliating routine. The sample sulfur mask that came with it, REALLY helped my skin. I'd buy more of the mask, but any microbead or regular exfoliating scrub with toner and a good oil free lotion will work just as well as the proactiv system.
Here's a website reviewing the top 5 acne treatments (proactiv is actually on the list as number 4, you may be interested in reading about the others... more research on products of interest can be done online)

I tried it, while its not a bad product, I wouldnt pay that kind of money for it. Plus I didnt like the main indredient, benzoyl peroxide, i never really like any products with that in it, I prefer salicylic acid 2% products, they dont seem to dry the skin as much, plus it seems like scars heal sooner with s. acid than b peroxide. I use olay total blemish anti aging something or other, expensive as well but cheaper than proactive, and i prefer the results

For me, it really dried out my skin causing more redness and bumps as well as flaky skin. What works for me is Acne Free. IT's Proactiv's competitior for around $7 for the cleanser at Wal-Mart or the kit is $20. It's non-drying and really cleared up my face. Try it!

i really think it depends on the person. Personally, it kinda dried my skin out, and I also did not find it to be too efective. Then the lotion just kinda made a greasy mess of my face. Some people i know swear by it, however. it's definitely worth a try- but don't get your hopes too high. good luck

I have very oily skin with a lot of breakouts. It worked for a few months for me then just made it worse.

depends on your skin.
dont get all hype about it, because you may not get the results you want. Seriously, it depends on your skin type and the severity of your acne.

it depends on if you really and truly have acne. if its not that bad and it is just a recent break out, then it will just make you break out worse.
