How old is your sister? If she's under six or seven, it's understandable. She just lacks experience. Feel honored that she need you. Sure, she's a pain, but it's also nice to be needed.

You want to hear a good one? When I was about six or so, I was afraid of the dark. When I had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I'd call out, and my four year old sister would get up and turn on the lights for me! I'm fifty-six now, but I still remember that.

Hopefully you're talking about a much younger sister... maybe 5 or less? Anyway, if that's the case, do what I did when my kids were little and they were afraid of 'monsters' in the closet at night. I bought a can of air freshener and covered up the label with pictures. I told the kids it was 'monster spray'. Every night I sprayed it around in the room and closet, under the bed.... etc... worked like a charm.

I don't know how old your sister is, or what your home life is, but some of the signs show she might have been abused. Or has had a very bad experience in life. And all of that could be the reason she is acting out like that.
Good luck
You might try talking with your school counselor to see if they have answers to help you out.

Find out what she is afraid of. How old is she? If she is younger it may be because she's just still insecure with the world around her and she comes to you because you make her feel confident in herself. Children are like that. You should feel good that she trusts you to be her comforter.

talk to your sis as to what is she scared of. be calm and listen to her patiently. if its really serious and she cant overcome it, she should meet a psychologist. if you can solve her problem do so.
