Dear Broken, you sound like you're in pain. Let me suggest some ways of dealing with it. First, you ar the finest and best person you know. Honor yourself for your own greatness. It is your greatness, not another's. And love yourself. Loving yourself is important because if you don't truly love yourself, you can't love another. Now, if someone else treats you in a way you don't like, don't blame them. They are probably doing the best they can. They probably aren't trying to hurt you, they're just doing what seems to them to be their best. If you can see that, then you will come to learn that your happiness doesn't depend on the conduct of others but upon the love and honor you give yourself. When others see you as a person who honors herself, they will come to love you for what they lack in themselves. Remember, you are the greatest. Honor yourself; love yourself for your own joy and happiness...and if others can't see how wonderful you are, it's because they're wearing a blindfold. Love yourself and the world will love you.

No, they are not really your friends. If they were true friends, you could count on them no matter what. There is a big difference between friends and acquaintencances. A friend is someone you can call and ask anything of and they will be there for you. Make some new friends.

Basically you have answered your own question. You found that when you need them the most the people you thought were your friends really weren't. They are called "fair-weather friends" meaning that they are around when things are good, but when you need them most they cannot be found. Time to start looking for genuine people not plastic (or fake) people. Good luck!

No they're jerks, I am starting to find that some of my friends in college are jerks. I am helping my friends study for tests and exams, and right now I feel like I am being used because they ask to study with me when really I am giving all the input from my notes and so on.
It just ticks me off when I am being taken for granted.

Although you were vague about the situation, sometimes it best if they dont get involved which may seem harsh but it may have been for the best. Maybe what you needed them for was unreasonable. But if this was only the first time they wasnt there for you give them another chance but with caution. If it was more than once get new friends

I would take a lloong break from them all. Seems like they hurt you and time will heal it. Get involved with something else. Just take a two week break from everything its Christmas just enjoy your family and the holidays and concentrate on making this a great family time. You might feel better but you have to try.

These girls are probally fun to be around and there probally pretty. They make fun of poeple too. You need to find a group who doesnt only like you for what you look like and you cant count on. Inside counts.

Real friends help each other out, even if it meant not getting anything in return. Sorry but they are not your true friends. Find new ones!
