and according to Christian scholars Joseph was in his 30s or 40s.
I know she was a virgin when she had Jesus, but the point is that according to your belief God chose a 12 year old, and she was married at that age.

If you say Aisha was a victim, is it not hypocrisy to not also say that Mary was a victim?

(Btw as a muslim I believe neither were, they were both righteous women)

The Prophet Muhammad had enemies that wanted to kill him and discredit him in any way, why did not one of them mention his marriage?

Because even if Mary was 12, which she wasn't, Joseph was about the same age as her!

Hello?

Not like Muhammed who was 54 years of age when he had sexual intercourse with Aiesha when she was 9!

Info from a "Muslim" site!

That is called "Child Molesting"!!

First of all:

Where do you get the proof that mary was only 12?

It will give more credibility to your post if you provided links, or books or anything that is scholarly accredited.

Secondly isnt it in the koran that aisha was only 6 when she married mohammed and 9 y/o when the marriage was consumated?

And yes, if you were to proove that mary was IN FACT 12 y/o that's still a lot better than a 54 y/o man (mohammad) marrying a 6 y/o child.

AND YES BOTH WOULD STILL BE VICTIMS, HOWEVER (AGAIN) YOU HAVE TO PROVIDE A VALID PROOF FOR YOUR ARGUMENT.

it relatively is in basic terms in contemporary circumstances and in nowaday society that this has been seen a gross act. Marriage to youthful females replaced into very elementary in prophetic circumstances and that's to do with custom, no longer faith. there replaced into no longer a distinction between a 9 year previous and a 12 year previous in those circumstances and a 9 year previous might have been seen a woman when you consider that puberty can initiate on the age of 8 in women human beings. The prophet Muhammad might have married Aisha besides the shown fact that it relatively is a reality that they did no longer have a sexual courting. He enjoyed all his better halves the two and taken care of all of them with admire.

I don't believe Mary was 12. I don't know what scholars you're talking to but by my teachings, it's more like 16. I've heard that Aisha was 4. That's gross. I do appreciate your respect to the Christian faith. It humbled me to read respect in your question.

12 was the Jewish age of womanhood. A girl could be legally married at that age. Also, it was the custom to marry your daughter to an older man who could care for her, and have something to leave for care when he died. Death in the forties was common. 12 is a guess, cause she could have been that young. The Bible doesn't say exactly.
Aisha was 9, and Mohammed had plenty of other wives. Did she have a choice? Probably not.

I'm sure hoping that the "scholars" you mention isn't Big Mo (he doesn't have that hot of a track record with reality). I seriously doubt the validity of your claim, and view it as a very weak attempt to justify Mo's repulsive behavior.

Plus, on one hand, the selection (Mary) was made by God.
On the other hand, the selection (Aisha) was made by an old man lusting after a child.

It's pretty easy to see the difference.

Plus The Prophets marriage to Aisha was mostly for political reasons (i.e. not to have a war break out)

actually thats news to me... muhamed? not really familiar with anything about the man..

about as much as i understand about it all is this...

abraham married sarah, god promised them a child... sarah had doubt so allowed abraham to have a child with one of the slaves... that slave bore ishmail... then when abraham and sarah were very old they had isaac which was the promised son...

ishmail was born of a slave and was a mistake...

the god i beleive in is the god of abraham isaac and jacob... not ishmail... muhamed dosnt much count in the matter much to be honest...
