I am a Sikh punjabi girl in love with a Catholic guy and none of our parents agree and said if we persue this any longer they will disown us!!! We have been together since we were 14 and kept it a secret untill now. I am now 19 and he is 21, I need some advice i am gonna go crazy! help please!

parents tell you that they will disown you but everyone know that it is not true. You can not stop true love if it is meant to be it will be, I know that you are suppose to listen and respect your parents but at the same time what about them listening and respecting your feelings. Ask them this ( Dad and Mom when did you know that you were in love with mom, and ask your mom the same question, and wait for answer then add in did it matter what her religion was or if she was rich or poor, you loved her for who she is right.) And when they say yes you know that you got them right were you want them and just add in how you feel about the young man that you are dating. And let them know that it true love and not some puppy love. And another hint they may just be mad because they are finding out that you two have been together since 14 and now your are 19 that is a big five yr. gap. get no secerts let them know how you tell and it helps if you pull your mother in on your side about love and happiness. And then she will work on your dad and they will come around.

Follow your heart. At some point you have to stop worrying about what your parents think and start living your life for you. You need to decide whether that means sticking with your BF or doing what your parents want you to do. Personally, I would stick with your guy. Your parents may mean well, but in the end that won't keep you warm at night. Your BF will.

ok i understand you might love your parents but both of your parents have no right of telling u anything...i know your parents mean well but right now you have 2 do what your heart is telling you!!! if your heart is saying 2 be with your boyfriend forget what your parents are telling you!!! and if your parents disown you it wouldnt matter because you will be with the one you love!!! and NOTHING could stop love so i say 4 you 2stay with your boyfriend!!!

you gotta do your own thing girl. love is the trump card of all. which also means that your parents and family bar none should still love you and accept you even if your choices aren't choices they would make. Good Luck!

time heels everything... but, you can learn a little bit of the catholic religion and teach him about ur religion and prove to ur parents how in love u r and how much u respect eachothers religion.

it shouldnt matter what your parents think. if youre truly in love with him, there shouldnt be any circumstance to get in the way of this romance. its not your fault, your parents should accept your decision. give them reasons why they should.
