I want to take my grandmother out for tea for her birthday, shes one classy broad. Where should i go? Whats the prices and atmosphere?

The Hay Adams Hotel in DC, across the square from the White House. The Dining room overlooks the square and at this time of year you can see the White House. It's not cheap - I'm not sure of the prices, but you could call to find out.
Another option would be to go to The Ritz - either the one in Georgetown or the one at Pentagon City.
And then there's The Four Season in Georgetown.

The Mayflower is the classic, old world style hotel in DC and has a great high tea. I don't remember the price although I think it was somewhere in the neighborhood of $50, but here's the number......1-202-347-3000.

frederick maryland has 2 tea rooms both are very highly acclaimed
