how long should i wait to have my second child?

my son is 18 months and i want for him to have a new brother or sister by the time he is three.So he won't be lonely,do you think it's too soon or it's ok?

I think children near the same age is a better situation. I think they will have more in common and will be able to watch over each other more easily out in the world. They may fight more but if you've got a 16 year old and a 10 year old, there is no way that the teenager will want his brother around and wouldn't you rather have them causing trouble together?

Only you can answer that question. If you are ready for another one and can handle 2 young children demanding all your attention at all times and are able to care for them both then go for it. I have 2 children my daughter is 13 and my son is 6 months old they were born 13 yrs 1 month and 15 days apart and I wouldnt have it any other way!

Now let me ask you this, the question was basically asking what a person thought. I gave my opinion I had my first child shortly before my 22nd birthday, my second before my 35th and someone gives me the thumbs down because of my choice? Yet I bet its the same person who will tell a teenager not to abort an unwanted child or some person living off of welfare. My sister and I are 11 months apart and it wasnt until we were 33 that we could remotely get along. So I think the times I chose to have my child worked just fine for me. I love both my kids and wouldnt have changed a thing.

We concieved our second the same month our daughter turned 2, so she was 2 years 9 months when our son was born it was perfect she had just gone out of diapers! But it is all up to you, just think in months bundiling up your son & a new baby who eats all the time can be a nightmare so think of planning the new baby for spring, summer or early fall. ive always heard that it is VERY hard to have 2 children in diapers. I mean people get throught it but its not easy. My brother and i are 2 1/2 years apart, and my mother says it was the best thing. So wait another month or 2. and start trying. But also remember that the choice is up to you, and if you are ready for another one or not.

Do it now. The closer together the better. Otherwise you won't be used to the infant thing any more and it will be even harder on you. Having kids really close is really hard, but when it gets easy, it gets easy practically over night.

I have 2 year old twins and a 11 Month old. They have a blast together!

If I was to have a second child i would definately wait until the first had started school but even then I wouldn't be sure because I would want to provide all my attention for the first to help her through her first years at school. It's really up to you if you have enough time and energy for two young kids who need you for most things or help with most things go for it

Having a child to keep another child company is not a very good reason to have another child. Thus the term sibling rivalry.

Wait to have another child till you can actually afford another child. Till you are sure you can give the first child a good edication and a hom ein a decient neighborhood. Wait till you are sure you can afford to send this child to college. Don't have anohter child till you own a home, well you and bank.

A lot of the depends on your son. You want to wait until he is COMPLETELY out of diapers. If he still needs Pull-Ups at night that is ok but trust me, two in diapers at the same time is very hard on the parents.
