Depending on altitude and weather(mainly humidity...too much can cause it to be sticky) can effect the stickiness of doughs. Sometimes you need to add a little more flour to solve this problem. Add a little bit at a time until the consistency wanted is reached. If too dry add more water.

Baking is not an exact science. Flour is subject to humidity, so what is the right amount of flour to use in one environment can be different than a very humid or very dry environment. Add your flour slowly to your dough. If you have used the amount of flour called for in your recipe and the dough is still too sticky then add some more bit by bit until you have the consistency you want.

Knead in enough flour to make the dough soft and pliable but not sticky. Sticky dough needs more flour.

Do you live at a high altitude? Over 5000 ft. affects a lot of things when baking. Add more flour usually helps, just a little. If you are baking something with brown sugar, don't pack it in the cup.
