It could be a lot of things. Keep you, your family, and other pets away from dog. I'm saying this as a precausion. If it is rabies or distemper they are highly contagious. DO NOT come in contact with saliva. Humans can get the rabies but your dogs can get both. It could also be poison so if you can. CAREFULLY get the dog to a vet or quarantine it where it cant get to any other animals or humans until you can get it to a vet. Remember Stay away from the saliva. Good luck.

unfortunatley that sounds a bit like rabies. but the only real way to get it would be to be around or be bitten by an animal with rabies. if that hasn't happened then something could be really wrong. keep the dog indoors and don't let it get too hot. keep them very relaxed and with water but don't let them chug it down. they can have as much as they want but in intervals. keep it's mouth clean or infections may occur. very gentle around the dog. no loud noises or constant music unless it's calm and the volume is very low. if it feels to hot cool the room down if it feels to cold warm the room up. give the dog lukewarm water, not too hot, not too cold. kee the food at the same pace. change in diet could distress the dog. that should be fien until monday then take the dog in immediatley.

I really have an Airedale Terrier, a German Shepherd/Chow blend, and an Australian farm animals dogs/Border Collie blend. what sort of dogs do I favor i'd have...as well Airedales, probable some style of Setter or Pointer, a large Schnauzer, a Boxer, a Belgian Sheepdog, a Collie and an Irish, Lakeland, Scottish, Wheaten, Welsh, and cord Fox Terriers the best situation my dogs does is peel boiled eggs. The funniest situation he does is he sits in a wheelbarrow and facilitates you to push him round everywhere.

If he or she isn't current on rabies I would certainly make sure that it is in a secure area over the weekend. Also it could be distemper or parvo.
Are you sure there isn't a large animal vet that also takes care of small animals that could come to your house tomorrow? Our large animal vet would do that if we asked him to. Especially in a case like this.
Be very careful around this animal. If it is something that you can contact from it you should be wearing gloves and washing and sterilizing everything that you come in contact with that the dogs uses...

Well I am not a vet but it sounds like your dog may have something logged in its throat. Is your dog trying to eat anything it can? Perhaps a little peroxide on a spoon depending on the weight of your dog. One of my dogs had a piece of chew bone logged and I gave her about 1 teaspoon and let her out, she weighs about 45lbs, it helps them throw up, gross I know but it did the trick.
If you don't think this could be the problem via no bones or toys or whatnot have been chewed then don't do this,it may be dangerous for your dog to throw up.

Find an emergency vet. Could be rabies, or poisoning. Either way the best treatment is early treatment. Sometimes 48 hours is all it takes to start shutting down organs.

Sounds a lot like distemper, which is bad. Or rabies, which is worse, but isn't the case if the dog is still drinking water. Find a vet or get him caged until you can.

You should find a 24 hour vet or one that has on call Dr's to advise you. It doesn't sound so good but talking to a vet would be the best. Best of luck to you.

Doesn't sound good- could possibly be poison. TRY to find a vet, even if you have to drive a ways. You may not have until Monday.

Sounds like he got into something poisoness. My terriors kept getting a hold of toads and they looked the same way. Wash his mouth out with warm water then give him time to rest and it should ware off if not you need to take him to an animal hospital because thats exactly what happened to me.One died from it.
