I think evolution is pretty clear and I think it is also pretty clear that there is some energy that powers this existence - that's what I call god. It's what makes the grass grow and animals reproduce. I think that evolution has fine tuned our species for ages and I think we can still see it happening today.
It simply does not make sense to me that something should expend the energy to power this existence for there to be nothing more than 70 years and then plop in a box. It just seems like a senseless waste and that is why I rebel against the Athiest mentality that says we all just growed here for no good reason. I frankly don't care if I am right or I am wrong, either - believing as I do gets me through this lifetime - and whether you are right or I am right we all do need to get through this lifetime. We can sort out the rest later.
Peace!

The question is sir, as an athiest you are probabaly a reasonably intelligent person (meaning above average) imagine if the rest of the "Average world" stopped believing in their god.... IMAGINE THAT!!!! It would be pandemonium. Religion makes most people better people, but the people who can't accept religion and can still contribute to society... good for them (I don't personally have religion) but for others it is the only way of controlling their lives for the better. Some have to live according to someone else's rules. If they didn't the whole world might be in trouble... and by the way evolution is still just a theory (Yes I believe in it) but belief is the ultimate monkey in this case, and by the way you can still believe in science and evolution at the same time... If you think that science can answer everything ask why we can't go back to time zero with mathmatical calculations... and all the sudden they just break down at 10to the 45 seconds. Why? Cuz something else acted upon it. I don't know what, but it is something other than nature... have a nice day

No. I don't think that.
And I think you may be misinformed or uninformed.
I think the idea of God is fake. I believe in the idea of god. I believe god created us and that it is the "trigger" in the singularity in the big bang. There is evidence of the big bang, and I assume you believe it? I also believe in evolution.
God in the sense of Christianity, Judaism, or Islam, does not exist without faith. There is no proof and this is why they call it faith. I am not willing to have faith in God, and I don't feel any animosity towards people who are. I think people who do feel this way towards them are still confused about it.
I think maybe you should read about Eastern religion a little bit and understand what the different ideas of what God and god are. god is not just an old bearded man in the clouds looking down on you.
For example, Buddhism does not really believe in God or god and it doesn't mention it/Him.
As for the people that said our DNA doesn't change ... That really scares me. I mean, that was such a delusional statement. "DNA is DNA" ... Not really. It is changed all the time. That's why we aren't clones, or exactly like our brothers and sisters and why people have genetic disorders. Genes are moved around and there are mistakes made very often. There is obvious proof that DNA is changing.
Also, the DNA of bonobo monkeys is around 98 to 99.4% the same as humans.

... Bonobo is an ancient Bantu word meaning "Ancestor."

Tell me what you know about after death. Have you die and someone raised you from the dead? Or has someone you know died and was raised from the dead?
There is no way for you to know if God is a fake or not. You have all the information, and you have stated your belief. What you believe is yours.
You state there is no evidence? Actually there is not evidence either way. You hear the words of the prophets and you can believe it or not.
What want is your question? You statement is obvious, so what is it you are looking for? Not being scared when you die? You will find that answer when you did.

Two things you will learn in your quest for answers:
1. Most people are afraid of the unkown.
2. Many people will go so far as to lie to themselves, rather than admit to being wrong.
For example:
First, the christians said that Adam and Eve were the first people, created by god just a few thousand years ago.
Then we found dinosaur bones.
Then, the church claimed that the dinosaur bones were planted by the devil to cause disbelief in god.
Now, we have a pretty damn good fossil record of life on earth.
Now, the church has "intelligent design."
We're very, very close to proving how life on earth most likely began.
What will the church come up with then? Something very convenient, I imagine.
What I'm trying to say is that some people just won't ever be convinced. Find people who support your opinions, and you'll be a lot happier than fighting those who don't.

Seriously, look here:
http://www.littleflower.org/learn/faq.asp#4
"Regarding St. Therese, in 1923 the Church approved of two spontaneous cures unexplained by medical treatment. Sister Louise of St. Germain was cured of the stomach ulcers she had between 1913 and 1916. The second cure involved Charles Anne, a 23 year old seminarian who was dying from advanced pulmonary tuberculosis. The night he thought he was dying, Charles prayed to Therese. Afterward, the examining doctor testified, "The destroyed and ravaged lungs had been replaced by new lungs, carrying out their normal functions and about to revive the entire organism. A slight emaciation persists, which will disappear within a few days under a regularly assimilated diet." These two miracles resulted in Therese becoming beatified. "

I for one am not scared after death I am sorry for you and I will pray for you but I will say this to you Christmas is coming and on Christmas morning you had not better be sitting waiting for your present because the basis of Chrismas revolves around Christ and God so if you open even one present you are nothing but a hypocrite.

Although I am an Agnostic, I do not think that the concept of a creator is stupid. However, I think religion is because it has caused so many wars and will continue to do so. If there is a God out there, he/she must be very disappointed in us.
