any "diet" where you dont eat a normal meal consisting of the whole pyramid plan is hurting you somewhere..
I dont agree with all the "all protein", "high protein", or all bread, or all cabbage, anything like that..
All she really needs to do is exercise everyday, walking is the best natural exercise
eat properly.. cut out all sodas, fast foods, most trans fats, and yeasty white breads, and no whole fat dairy
eat more lean meats, more chicken and fish that red meat, steam, boil, broil, grill, bake, or braise foods, no frying.. if she does have to fry, use minimal oil as possible and good fats like olive oil
eat more greens, and try to eat a rainbow everyday (fruits and vegetables from every color group as possible)
drink more water... eat fiberous foods as snacks.. like apple or celery sticks, raw almonds(in moderation) and raisens
and dont overeat... chew food completely before swallowing
if she does this, she will loose weight..

I think that you should really talk to your friend! This may be dangerous. Loosing to much weight at one time can be harmful. And the energy drinks are a no-no. I would suggest eating smaller meals more often. Eat enough to get everything your body needs and nothing more. Eat healthy...that means no fast food...lol

as long as she burns over the amount of calories she takes in then she should be able to lose a a decent amount of weight by then. Although it is not healthy to change her diet so drastically. As soon as she goes back to eating and exercising the way she did before all of the weight is going to come back...

first she should not go on an all protein diet, that is not healthy!! losing 1-2lbs a week will help keep the weight off and you could possible work out with her, it is easier to work out with someone else becasue you have them there for support and to push you harder here are some tips for her. . . .
make sure you are really dedicated
also make sure you eat breakfast!
some good breakfast ideas are
-fruit and cereal
-protein shakes
-smoothies and fruit
-granola bars and fruit
-oatmeal and fruit
-eggs(try not to use butter or oil use water to "grease" the pan)
-veggie omlet
***make sure you eat breakfast within an hour of waking up, and make sure portion sizes are small enough to keep you full for a couple of hours
mid morning snack- make sure you have a small snack within 2-3 hours after breakfast some ideas. . .
-a piece of fruit
-carrots,celeray with lowfat dip about 2tblsp
-nuts
-smoothie
*****this should be light just to hold you over until lunch*****
lunch should be within 2-3 hrs after mid morning snack
remember to keep it light and not heavy.
-turkey on wheat with lowfat mayo and lettuce and tomatos + a piece of fruit or vegetable + granola bar + snack sized bag of baked chips
-soup + salad, with low fat dressing + breadsticks
*make sure portion sizes are decent, no overdoing it*
mid-day snack is usually 2-3hrs after lunch
-vegetables with lowfat dip
-nuts
-fruit with lowfat yogurt
-cup of yogurt
-jello
-smoothie
-snack size bag of chips that are baked or pretzels
supper is 2-3 hrs after you eat your mid day snack
-chicken (3-4oz) and pasta (3-4oz) with reduce sodium tomato sauce
-soup + salad lowfat dressing + breadsticks
-meat (3-4oz) + pasta or rice or potatos + fruit or vegetables
**********PORTION SIZES ARE KEY***************
it is also better to eat 5 times a day then to skip a meal, if you skip a meal the food you eat next stays on your body as fat, so keep eating 5 times a day that way your metabolism is always going.
good luck
also try cutting back on soda/pop if you drink alot of that and sugar, try not to eat any of that because it just adds empty calories
also make sure you excersie at least 30 minutes a day and walk as much as possible

For a start, drinking energy drinks will have the opposite effect to the one she's hoping for. They're full of sugar, which will turn to fat faster than she can say, "Think yourself thin."

thats less than a month away - she in a rush? if shes plannin on losing a lot in such a short period of time likely hood is that it'll come back on just as quick as she lost it.

There are too many variables here to make a good assessment. But it could be substantial if she is truly serious.
