I think the "Neiman Marcus" cookie recipe is the best for what you want. Be warned: it makes a HUGE batch and you need a large and powerful mixer (like a Kitchen Aid) to make them! (or cut the batch in half)

Nieman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 C. butter
2 C. brown sugar
2 C. granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
4 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
5 C. oatmeal, measured then whirled in FP
24 oz. chocolate chips
3 C. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 375ºF. Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and soda, and add to mixing bowl. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Roll into bars and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes. If you make them large, bake for 15 minutes.
