Put the computer screen in front of the treadmill and watch video or slideshows for a while. Personally, I think Joggers should carry Glock handguns. Your fears aren't unusual, doesn't sound lame. The rest of the world is trying to convince me that I exercise to "be seen". I keep moving farther into the backwoods to get away.

Move the clock or if you really can't stand it find a place to walk indoors, like a school or mall. The school I work at opens for walking at 6am. Also, maybe you are making it too easy. If you can adjust the incline and up the speed to make it a challenge you can concentrate on giving it your all, which may take your mind off the time.

Definitely invest in an mp3 player... it helps so much. Also, try breaking up your workout... do 3 10 minute workouts a day for instance. If you want to run outside, maybe have someone go with you if you are really concerned. Good luck!

If something's going to happen to you it's going to happen. PLUS it's a pretty good chance in the middle of the day- nothing's going to happen to you- to many witnesses. So just do your running or jogging outside and have fun. Listen to some music while you are and it'll go by quik.
