People, it's not anemia. Anemia per se does not cause easy bruising since the red blood cells do not participate in keeping the integrity of the blood vessels. Most probably, you have a problem with your platelets or your clotting factors. Platelets form the plug which seals micro-defects in blood vessels and the clotting factors form the mesh on which the platelets are embedded. Your condition may be benign. However, I suggest you go to your doctor so that laboratory tests may be done. Thank you.

are you taking a lot of aspirin or some type of blood thinner? I get migraine headaches and for a while i was taking a lot of aspirin. I'd get these big bruises from the smallest bumps, like when my moose of a dog would bounce into me when we were playing.
It turned out that the aspirin was causing the problem so I switched to a non-aspirin med.
You definitely should get a professional opinion but it'll help to monitor for a couple of days if you're taking any meds, whether Rx or over the counter.
Good luck!

You could have a lack of platlets which causes blood to clot and that would allow larger bruises but if you weren't getting hit I would guess that you'll be right in assuming that a vein poped and should consider taking the proper suppliments or even changing your diet to help with that.
That or you could be sleep walking (Just kiddin)

Hmmm....my best answer for this would be to say that alot of people bruise very easily. A friend of mine got bruises from putting her watch on. Another reason could be you bursted a blood vessel or someting of that nature. Hope this helps!

My Aunt had this same thing and her doctor told her it was from aspirin if you can believe that. Since she stopped taking it though she has no more bruises. You really should see a doc though because it could be more serious.

See you doctor. It could be that you are an anemic. But it is the same syptoms as other things, I cannot think of it off hand. But it has to do with the circulation in your legs.
