I need to know this because my online english course, said that is a requirement. I don't have MicrosoftWord, but I do have WordPad, is that a Word Processing program too?

Yes it is, but a very basic one.
Download a copy of Open Office, its free open source software and is just as good.

Well kinda...You really need a good word Processing software, Microsoft Word is a good choice, I have tried Open office but it has bugs when opening into a True MSWord program. I would buy the Office XP 2002, which I have and use, you can get it at the link below or google it to find a better price. At the links it's 123.00. Or ask if your school has a copy or can help you get a copy.

Yes, indeed it is. In fact, it's basically a very early version of Word.
If you store your document as an rtf (rich text format) it can be read by any other version of Word.

I advise using WordPad rather than Word. It has all the major features that you want:
kind of font, size, bold, italics, underline, left, right, middle justification.

Definitely use WordPad.

Yes it is. I'm not sure if it will allow you to do a word count, though, which may be required by an English course.
