I have a cat who will leave his tail floating in my bath water, like he doesn't even know it's in there. He is always real excited when I take a bath and comes and sits on the edge of the tub. and he has started sticking his paws in the water now. I try to coax him in, but he doesn't go for that yet.
just wondering...
I have never heard of a cat that was okay with water???
He's also always putting his cat food in his water bowl. maybe he has a thing for water.

Lol, my cat does the same thing. He likes to put his food in his water and stick his paws in it. I was wondering if maybe it made the water taste better? Also he gets excited when I turn the sink on and jumps up and watches. Whenever I get out of the shower he always wants to run in. (My shower has a door not a curtain, otherwise I'm sure he would poke his head in while I'm showering) Another thing he does is so cute but makes me mad-- when I have a glass of water he will constantly put his paw in it, even after I push him away--sometimes knocking it over!!
But I love my BuddaSun (my cat) and I believe he is just a playful, VERY curious kitten :)

My kitten loves to climb into the shower with me. She just hangs out and doesn't really care if she gets soaked. If I'm taking a bath, she'll sit on the edge of the tub and bat at the water with her paws. She also likes to splash around in her water dish and her drinking fountain.

We're worried that when she's big enough to jump onto the fish tank, she's going to try and go for a swim.

My kitten loves the bath tub as long as the water is not running i can give him a bath. He has even knocked over my drinking glasses to make a puddle to play in. They have a personality of there own. His Mom and sister (they are my sisters) hate water. They run out of the kitchen or bathroom and hide. I think it just depends on the cat.

My cat loves the water. He also likes to play fetch too, he will go get and bring back a small ball. The odd thing about my cat is that he will not drink water out of his bowl. Whenever he is thirsty, he will sit on the bathroom sink and meow until I come and turn on the faucet. He will then put his head under the running water and licks out of the basin. Bad thing about that is every time I go somewhere I have to leave the water running in my sink in case he wants a drink.

some cats like their food mushy and will put their food in their water.. we used to have a cat that did that all the time

and with the bath water.. i give my cats baths once a month and they dont mind it much.. if u want to get him used to that and hes still young.. try putting some water in the bottom of the tub, just enough to cover the bottom.. then stick him in and let him get used to it.. next time.. add a bit of water..

some cats like water.. some cats even like to go swimming ..

my sister has a friend who has a cat that goes swimming in their bathtub.. she lived in japan and the bathtub was like 5 ft deep!

LOL that's pretty funny. My friend has a black cat that whenever I went to the bathroom, right behind me he goes. Whenever I turn on the sink to wash dishes, right there he is next to me staring at the water. Whenever I turn on the faucet to the tub, he's right there. I tested him and brought him closer to the tub, and he didn't resist. I didn't wet him though. I did sprinkle him with a little bit of water to see if he runs away, but nothing, lol. And yeah my cat does that to me also ,but I try sprinkling him and he runs away. So yeah, I guess some cats actually love water.

Well, there are cats that go surfing with their owners. My cats personally hate water, but my grandmother's cat was fascinated by it. She would jump in the shower with them and walk around the edge of their pool and stick her paws in the water. Cats CAN swim, most of them just don't want to.

Some of out cats hate water, and other ones will put their hands in it and act like they don't even notice. We went to a humane society one time and a big orange cat kept splashing his arm in their water bowl.

I have a cat that likes water, when we put up our pool he likes to swim around in it. Your cat may also think that their are fish in the water. He might also be trying to9 play with you and get some attention.
