I want mo make a drink that would start out preferably blue, but purple would be almost as good, and add something that would make it orange or yellow.
All ideas welcome.
I know this will be difficult but I've seen kool-aid do something similiar.

yes yes I am fully aware of the color wheel, if this was easy I would not need help. It may take a reaction between chemicals that would destroy the chemical compound that would have added the blue and render it red. You know the glasses that tint in the sun? Thats a chlorine coumpound that decomposes in sunlight, then composes itself again in lower light to be colorless again. So anything is possible. It may take a chemical reaction

Also the drink will likely be flamed too if that helps

Sadly, the kind of chemical reaction you would need to, say neutralize the color in a purplish-red beverage to make it clear or yellowish are... chemicals.

Red wine can be made white by fiddling with the anthocyanins with the addition of ammonia, and returned to red with vinegar, but, flamed or not, it's not drinkable after you do it.

I fear that you will have to go with Kool-aid type powders and a clear, alcohol base, but even the drink mix is pretty limited in terms of visual appeal (it looks great in commercials and is ho-hum in real life), Sorry!

Best wishes!

I'm thinking this won't be possible as you shouldn't be able to go from one primary color to another. You can go from red to orange, but not red to yellow. Red or blue to purple.....I highly doubt you'll be able to go from blue to yellow as they are both primary colors. You could go from blue to green, but still.....I'm thinking you could go warm to cool with the red to purple....mixing grenadine with blue curaco might accomplish this, but I don't know how it would taste (not to mention you need other ingredients)...I can imagine that would be along the lines of a fruit punch. Add vodka. Or rum.

Good luck.

Do you remember the color wheel from 2nd grade? Apparently not. Because you can't mix anything w/ BLUE to get orange. YELLOW is a primary color (as is Blue and Red) and nothing can be mixed to get primary colors.

If you start out w/ yellow, you can add red grenadine to get orange, probably..

If you want purple, you could start out w/ Blue Craco (sp?) and maybe add some red grenadine to make it purple... but that's about it.
