Women beer drinkers vs. men beer drinkers.?

Question

If both men and women drink beer, why is it there is only sexy women advertising? I wouldn't mind seeing a guy in a skimpy bathing suit on a poster in my local convienient store.

Probably for the same reason that you don't see a ton of advertisements for men going to shopping malls. Yes, women drink beer, yes men do go shopping...but It's more men that drink beer so that's where the advertising dollars are going to be spent.

I don't think that advertisements for beer directed toward women have been very effective in the past. Besides, women actually have been shown to identify with the male oriented beer ads anyway!

I drink either depending on the situation. The problem with using a study done in one country to draw conclusions about diet in general is the difficulty of not knowing the effect of the Danish culture on this study. There are also issues such as class and income to take into account. The less healthy beer drinker's diet is going to be cheaper. Most people are influenced by their family and their peers; you're likely to follow the same sort of diet as your family. I drink wine at home with my family or if I'm out for a meal; if it's a night out from work I drink beer because that fits in with rounds better.

Because while both men and women drink beer, WAY more men drink beer than women and all together they tend to drink WAY more of it. Sure, there are exceptions to this but it is generally true. So the beer manufacturers appeal to the group that drinks more and can make more money for them so you'll see the sexy girls in beer commercials and posters. It's all about the money.

I've read some of the answers... and some make me laugh, really as they are so true..
Like certain women saying, "Eeeewww beer..."

Sexy women ads pray on this miss-conception that only men drink beer.... while real men know this:

There is something so sexy about a Real Woman who enjoys "tossing back a few cold ones....".

So I really have NO PROBLEM with ads with a cute guy aimed at women to sell beer.

Ladies, please...
Your Man wants a cold one.......

Yet he wants to share this with you....

I love women who enjoy a cold beer....

It's all the result of the statistics they gather outside those convenience stores in Florida watching who pulls up and buys beer. I mean come on, do you really want to see a beer commercial of a man in a pick up truck being pulled over by the police asking him which brand he bought?

No, I don't think so. Besides, guys in skimpy bathing suits don't drink beer-- do they? Those kind of guys are drinking those fancy yuppie fruity drinks with umbrellas in them by their pools.

I wouldn't mind seeing that either and when they come out with a real "woman's" beer we will get one. Until then we will have to take the advertising that caters to men seeing that they suck back most of the suds.

because the majority of beer purchasers are men. an men may not buy a beer that has a poster of another guy in front of it.
