It's a rip-off. Did the same thing and it was laughed at by bars. Better off to get a job as a bar-back and let the owners know you would eventually like to be a bartender. Bartending requires real-world experience more than classroom learning.

Bartending university will harm your probabilities of having a role. The bartender could make or holiday the apartment so if you haven't any specific paintings revel in they simply can not use you No well bar hires a bartender besides. They rent bar-backs and advertise those with promise. You would get a role at a sequence, however the hints would possibly not be well and repair salary is just too little to live to tell the tale. You could make a ton of cash in case your well and you're employed within the correct bar. Best strategy to be taught is to get a role as a again and paintings your approach up. If hauling kegs is not your bag, a few locations will instruct waitstaff too. Bartending university is a waste of money and time.

not in Atlanta but i did go to one in california. All the bartending schools do help you with placement :
meaning they give you job listings and then it is up to you to apply to these jobs etc.

btw every bar and bartender that i have talked to has told me that they would rather have someone with barbacking experience than a bartender that has graduated from bartending school.

and to answer your question: most people who graduate from bartending school don't get any bartending jobs (given that it is the only bartending experience that they've had.)

i hope this helps.
