I'm 9 days late on my period. I have no pms symptoms at all. I took 3 tests, last one being this morning and all are negative so i'm not pregnant. I haven't been stressed any more than usual and even if i was that usually makes my period only 3-4 days late. I've never had this happen before. Any ideas of any other problems that would result in missing my period? I have no malnutrition problems either. How much longer should i wait also to see my gyno?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I forgot to add that normally my periods are on time, once in a while i'll be 3-4 days late due to stress( don't know if that helps knowing)....I'm not sure if this is pms but the past 2 days i've been really hungry often and because of constantly eating my stomach is bloating, maybe that means that my period is coming soon?

In my twenties, I once missed a period entirely without unusual stress or being pregnant (physically impossible unless it was the second immaculate conception). As others said, sometimes it happens.
If you're worried, see the doctor. People go in for hangnails all the time, so don't feel guilty. You pay good money for your health insurance!

Just because you are 9 Days late and took a test that was negative, doesn't mean that you aren't pregnant. It can take 2 or more weeks to get a positive result.
I don't know how old you are but having irregular periods are not uncommon. Because you have a history with late periods, it isn't anything to worry about. Sometimes women even skip a month or two and then have another period. Being late is no reason to run to the doctor unless you have other symptoms happening at the same time.

Many things can affect your period. More exercise than normal. New medications or dosages. Stress--plays a big big part. Lack of fluids-possible dehydration. Being around other females...like roommate situations or living with another female in the last month or so, somehow...can change your cycle. My best friend and I were always opposite of each other with our cycles...until we lived together. She was late and I was early and before we knew it, we had the same cycle. I don't have an explanation of that one, but it does happen.
As long as you feel OK and are not experiencing any new pains or headaches or any other ill feelings, I may wait about another 4-5 days or so. You can always call the doctor and talk with a nurse too.
Good luck!!! Remember the more you stress about it, it could delay it too. Try and relax.

Dehydration can delay a period, as can a sudden and intense increase in exercise, a major change in diet, a change in birth control meds, etc.
If you are experiencing no discomfort, I'd wait until your next period date before talking to a gyno. If you are experiencing any pain or sudden changes in your body's shape, go see the doctor immediately.

I have had irregular periods as far back as i can recall... when i got pregnant, i waited at least til day 40 of cycle to test. That would be around 12 days late, if you have a 28 day cycle.

I am a runner and sometimes this happens to me if I am working out esp hard. Any changes in physical exertion could effect your lateness. I agree wait about 2 weeks and then consult a doctor.

Its normal. it happens to all of us once in a while, you just didn't ovulate, or didn't ovulate on schedule.
