If, and only if, you are 100% sure your sister didn't do it. Try approaching your mother at a happy, non-stressful time. Definitely when you are getting along well and just tell her....."Mom, I know you don't believe (sisters name), and I know it looks like she did it....but I need you to know that she didn't do it." Then, state any proof you have if you have any. Stay very calm, look her in the eye and be sincere.
I hope your sister can stop lying....that will only get her trouble. And I hope that you have chosen a much better path....Good luck!

This is a good lesson for your sister in how liars get treated. Maybe she will learn not to lie now. No one believes a liar. If she wants to be believed she needs to earn trust back by being honest all the time.

Were you there to see that your sister did not do it? I'm not at all saying that she did do it, but if you weren't there then I don't see how your mom could believe YOU telling her that it didn't happen. Also, it is unfortunate that your sister's track record is affecting her in this way. It's like the boy who cried wolf. Your mom probably won't trust her. Sorry.

It's like the boy who cried wolf all the time except there was no wolf. Then when there really was a wolf he cried wolf again but nobobdy believed him. No one believes a liar even when she is telling the truth. Your mom is right and your sister needs to learn a valuable lesson. This tragedy is how she is learning.

Since I don't know what she did maybe if you can show proof that she didn't do it then your mom will believe her.
Unfortunately this is a lesson your sister will have to learn about the consequences of lies.

From what you've said in your question I don't see any way you could convince your mother without some outside intervention.
The real perpetrator(s) has to either be caught, and/or confess clearing your sister, or possibly both.
Or you need to convince someone that your mother trusts of your sisters innocence, and have them convince your mom.

Some times this is the consequence of lying. Better, why don't you use this as a point to show your sister what lying does to a persons reputation.

I agree with Jac R, but you could say to your mom: " I know "your sisters name" lie's alot but she is really telling the truth about this and I feel really bad that this happened to her. She really didn't do it and if you can't believe me about this then i'm just gonna keep telling you over and over again because she shouldn't have to suffer for something she never did. It's totally unfair."
good luck!

Good luck... too many lies came back to haunt her and she may just have to take the blame. Don't know of anything you can do to make her believe you without proof... like catching the person who did it saying they did it

Tell your mom that she can trust you and you wouldn't lie for your sister. Just keep telling her that your sister didn't do whatever.
