This Aveda salon in San Francisco charges more for partial and full highlights than for "full color." Wouldn't full color be more expensive?

full color takes less time to apply-and you pretty much just put it all over. when hilighting it takes skill and time-not just mushing some color thru, not to mention the foil and the bleach are more expensive. especially if you get a toner afterwards-thats like a hilight and a full color technically

No full color is apply and sit. Foil is a technique that takes a while to master, plus you think more and spen a whole lot more time on a good foil then applying color. It is all in the technique though. Foiling you get to pick what hair goes where and it can add depth, accentuate facial features and/or another color applied.
And there is more supplies being used.
Hope this helps.

I think its because of the time it takes to do it. With full color they just slap it on, but with highlights they have he foil or the cap to pull hair through.

Foils are so much more time consuming, and because stylists work on comission you are not just paying for the product but their time.
