blonde is the best if you want to lighten up your hair and go darker highlights if you want darker hair.

Bright yellow is the most common highlighter, but I like the green or the blue ones best - less intense to look at. The problem is that over time, they sometimes darken.

i have medium skin tone but otherwise is the same as you. I highlighted my hair with red streaks only at the side bangs and lateron i highted like bright orange streaks beside the red ones. It looks awesome

get some auburn low lights and dark blonde highlights, ask a stylist (don't do it by yourself) and they'll give you some great tips. i have light brown hair and pale skin and this combo really worked for me

i think blonde will suit your medium brown hair.. or go a honey to light brown to add warmth. good luck.
