My husband had found a kitten at his work about 3 weeks ago. The kittens eyes were stil closed. I was just wondering about his head shaking. every so often his head will shake alot and fast. Wat can be the cause of it? He seems very healthy...is the cutest little thing. I just havent had a cat for years so I don't remember to much!!!

I took him to the vet the day we found him...they kept him for 3 days to tube feed him. Once he was able to drink from a bottle I picked him up. i want to keep the little guy...I am way attached already. I was jst wondering if it can be because he doesnt have complete control over his head ( kinda like a baby ) or if it is something I should be worried about. like I said everything else seems normal.

if it's kind of a mechanical shaking it's probably a neurological problem. ask the vet about it, they will probably do some test and may be able to help him, even if they can't he'll probably be fine living a happy normal life, you might just have to be a bit more careful with him.

but that's just from my experience. you should ask the vet about it though.

Maybe some sort of seizure--but do know its not normal for the kitten to have its head shake like that. Because its ever so often and fast am inclined to think seizure or neurological problem. Only a Vet can tell you exactly what it is.Bless you and your husband for taking this little kitty into your home and loving it. He might have something as minor as an ear infection. Smell by his ear and see if he has any bad odor coming from them. If so, he will need some antibiotics. Or (hopefully not) he may have some type of neurological problem although a neurological problem would most likely have more symptoms than just head shaking, he would probably have a wobbly walk, lose balance, etc.

My guess is that he probably has an infection.

Normally i would suspect "ear mites" but the vet saw the cat. Call the vet to see if he knew of this problem. If not , take the kitten back to the vet to find the problem causing this type of behavior.

Well since its eyes were closed that mean any thing could have happened to the kitty while it wasn't with its mother. It would really be best to bring it to the Vet, and if you can't they usually take the cats for free if you just say that you found them, which you did. So that they can care for the cat, instead.

Yes, I agree...It's probably ear mites or an ear infection. Whenever we see an animal shaking its head that the first thing we check for.
Time for another vet visit! : )

Congrats on your new bundle of furry joy!

probably has ear mites. This makes the ears very itchy . You need to take the kitten in and have it checked out, get vaccinations, get a dewormer etc.

If (s)he's doing it him/herself, it could be because of ear mites.
