Lets say you die and you're wrong. Suddenly you are in front of G-d and you must explain your unbelief and failure to repent before Jesus. What is your excuse??

Do you think it is good enough that He will accept??

Blessings
David

If i am wrong and the christian god is the only god. first off then i am crazy because my gods talk to me on a regular basis, and if it is not them then it is just my mind and that makes me crazy. but anyway.

if i am wrong and i have to explain myself to god on the last day. i will say simply this.

i looked at what your church did through history. i saw the pain and suffering that large groups of your so called followers caused. so i lived my life by what i deemed was right and just. and i took heart in your last words in the book of revelations that you would judge on actions on the day of judgement.

so if you be a fair and just god, and a god of your word, then you will accept me as a flawed human being. for i may not have called directaly to you but the beliefs that i lived by mirrired the teachings of your son Jesus Christ. so if you will accept me then accept me as an equal. and if you will not then send me to your hell and know today that you are giving your greatest enemy a new commander for his armies, because in my belief your word is law. and you gave me your word that we would be judged on actions. if you break this word to me it is an act of war and i will respond in kind.

What is my excuse? Why should I believe in him? Because televangelists tell me to? Because some random guy showing up at my door tells me to? Because some random guy on the Internet tells me to?

My response will be this: "If you really wanted me to believe in you, then the least you could've done is make your signals a little more clear and give me a little more evidence, especially considering the fact that I've lived my entire life in a world where there are thousands and thousands and thousands of competing religions, and none of them have any convincing proof, including yours."

I don't care if he "accepts" it or not, because that's the truth, and it's all I care about. I looked at Christianity with an open and honest mind and I determined that I just could not accept it. The Biblical contradictions, the inconsistencies, the fact that some of the concepts are flat-out illogical, the absurdity of the stories in the Bible like Noah's Ark, the existence of other religions besides Christianity, the lack of historical evidence for Jesus... how can I possibly accept it with those factors involved?

first of all, i'm not a huge fan of the "judgment day theory" if God exists and he/she is so all understanding, there is actual not a chance to describe your self, you'll only bypass the position you're going. Assuming I did believe this although, my reply must be that certain I did have self belief, even though it replaced into faith in mankind, not in a e book. even as my faith gained't were interior the common experience, I nonetheless believed interior the guidelines of accurate and incorrect, and lead my existence ethically. As for the "God gained't forgive you" i does not ask for forgiveness, in elementary terms say that I stayed actual to my convictions, this is the actual which technique of religion.

don't you worry my Christian Komrade, I've got a GREAT excuse that God's gonna love. But I can't tell you because then everybody will know it and when he hears it from me he'll just give me that look like I'm the 6 billionth person to try it. Besides, if your weaker bretheren knew some of them would quit believing just because a good excuse is much easier than a life of devotion. Much, my friend. Bwahahahahaha.

Free will or not, this "g-d" still had to be the one who came up with atheism and not believing, right? So...I fail to see how it's necessarily a bad thing "he" created. A book says so doesn't mean that view is true.

"There were so many different people claiming to speak for you that I didn't know who to believe. Consequently, I had to trust my own reason and experience, and I didn't see any evidence for your existence. Nevertheless, I tried my best to live an honest and compassionate life."

I think that if God exists, he's the sort of God who would accept this excuse (not so much an excuse as an explanation).

"oh so now I'M supposed to make an excuse for not believing in U when u made a mess of humanity?"
i don't care if he accepts. if he wants me to believe in him, he should've given a reason, and no religion was reason enough.

u read pascal's wager, didn't u.

I will tell him I had no desire to lay down my own free will. I wouldn't be concerned about his accepting it or not. If I'm wrong, I take responsibility for being wrong--this is part of the freedom I choose as well; no freedom comes without responsibility.

sure
"God, there were so many people on Earth killing each other in your name, destroying your world, and sinning though they claimed to be your followers, I figured I would concentrate on just being a good human being for the sake of my fellow man. I was given no reason to believe."

If God wouldn't respect that, then I wouldn't want to be in heaven. If God is real, powerful ,and all knowing, then he/it/she would understand my disbelief and respect my answer

I would say "why didn't you present any evidence that you existed? Why not make yourself known? Are you insane or do you just pretend to be?"

If a god exists like the one "believers" describe, he's the worst absentee father ever. I want to live with a better "foster" god!
