I was in 1st grade, so that would make me about 6.

I got them right before Christmas. It wiped out our entire 1st grade. I was supposed to be one of Santa's reindeer in our Christmas show but the got the chicken pox like 2 days before, so someone else got to wear the antlers and nametag that I MADE and was supposed to wear. It sucked. When I started itching I did not want to tell the teacher because I knew they would send me home and I'd miss the show.

But I remember playing with my toys in the living room and watching The Price Is Right while my mom folded laundry. And of course the itchiness drove me crazy. I believed there were cleared up by the time Christmas arrived.

I was eight years old when I contracted chicken pox. When I was 44, I was exposed to someone who had it, and I was under a lot of stress at the time. I wound up with a horrendous case of shingles. My doctor's advice was that if you get c. pox, get a bad case of it so you will be less likely to get shingles when you are older. (I had a mild case = shingles OUCH).

Best wishes.

No. I was exposed when I was PG with my first, but never got them. The doctor said I had a natural immunity from them.

No- my mum thought why bother? So she paid for the resistance shot which was the most painful one I've had.
