I took my kids away from seeing their dad, because my oldest daughter who's 13 and him fight all the time and the last time they were over there he rolled a joint and started to smoke it in front of her face and she walked outside. So i took the other 2 children also, now he don't want the 13 yr. old to come back because he says she's a snitch but he keeps threating me if i don't let him see the other 2. am i right for doing this?

Damn straight. It is up to you to pretect your children, and what he did in front of your 13 year old was UNEXCEPTIBLE. He needs to learn what it takes to be a parent, and he needs to learn some responsibility. Good job, Mom.

YES YES YES!! There are sooo many reasons that you need to get ALL of those kids away from that sleazebag!

1) By doing drugs when he's got the kids, he's putting them in harm's way.

2) It's clearly showing favoritism by saying "send those 2, but you keep that one." Even if she's aware that her dad's a dick, it'll still hurt her later in life. I'm sure she's already pretty hurt already though. They're ALL his kids, he can't pick and choose which ones he wants to care about when.

3) The younger kids need a better role model than some pothead.

If he's really been doing pot around the kids, take it to court to get his custody rights revoked! If he won't pass a urine test (it's been more than 30 days since he smoked), make sure they get a hair test b/c that'll show when and how much weed he's been smoking.

Last, if he's threatening you physically b/c of how you're dealing w/ him & the kids, consider a restraining order for you and all 3 children. Whatever kind of guy would roll a joint and start smoking weed in front of his kid...he sounds like a loose cannon!

Absolutely. If he wants to take you to court - let him. he did drugs in front of your child - he will not win. Just document everything - dates and times you and your children have seen his drug use and any other behavior that a father should not be doing. I would also file for sole custody so he was not allowed to have them stay overnight at all - and preferably very limited supervised visitation IF any at all.

I think that you are right and that you should take it a step further and talk to a family lawyer! It will show the kids that you really do "just say no" to drugs.

You are very right for not letting him see the other two kids. If he threatens you, call the police. If they see that he's smoking stuff, they will not let him see the kids, and will probably arrest him.

get a lawyer . he is endangering their health by smoking weed if front of them. that is illegal and it could come back on you if you continue to let your childeren be with him since you know this takes place. save your childeren. he doesnt have respect for them or he wouldnt have acted so irresponsibly.

Keep your kids away and take legal action right away. This will ensure that he can't fight for custody/visitation.
