I've become very insecure lately. I hate second guessing everything I say/do.

I know, I know..."Don't care about what other peopel think"...but it's never that simple.

You are the only one who can second guess yourself. Take charge; you are in control of your own decisions.

Take music lessons! Either private or at school, or you could join a local choir or something. Taking singing lessons was the best thing I've ever done because my technique and style have greatly improved. I would do the same for acting. Always remember that singing IS acting because you have to make the audience believe what you're singing about. Just sing with all your heart! As for getting famous, I would wait until you have a sturdy foundation in skills and technique, and then you could start local gigs, post gigs on the internet, or sign up with an agency. Good luck whatever you do!

The only way to become more confident is to be comfortable in yourself. List your good qualities and your bad qualities, be proud of the good ones, and if you need to, change the "bad" ones. When you look in the mirror each day, tell yourself out loud what you like about what you see. Something like, "I have nice hair" or "I have pretty eyes".

Accomplish something each day. Wether it is cleaning or doing homework. You will feel better about yourself if you accomplish more.

If there is something you don't know how to do. Like laundry, the more you do it, the more you will feel better about yourself because the more you do it, the better you will get at it.

I don't know if any of that made any sense, but I doubt myself all the time and I don't have much self confidence so I hope it helped.

First believe that you do not need to "learn" to be yourself. You teach yourself how to be someone else. You have to remember that when you make a decision on something that's it.....and be comfortable with that and knowing most things are reversible and your confidence with shoot back up when you can see that it is okay to make mistakes, and that you do have the strength to deal with that you have made one. Sounds like you are a perfectionist that is afraid to make mistakes!!
I wish you luck, it will be ok just do what is right for you and not worry so much what others think to a certain degree.

being your self is pretty hard and doing things that you want to do is even harder but my advise is that when everyone says their favorite color is pink and yours is green.........and the question comes to you say green because you dont just stand out but you said the truth and you are being you. start with the little things and work your way up and dont forget in the end all you have to is true to your self and then you wont be insecure.
p.s second guessing might be that your being pressured to say something else?!

first off, why do you think you are feeling this way only lately? What thing happened recently to make you suddenly feel like this? Keep telling yourself that you are worthwhile and you will believe again.

just position yourself around the people you feel most comfortable around. and act yourself around them, then as you gradually become more confident and are able to act more like yourself around them you will be able to act yourself around almost anybody. but there will always be those few people who you just get naturally shy around!
