I do everything for my mom and stepdad. When I say that I mean everything! I cook, clean, drive my 5 little brothers and sisters around, take care of HER two year old twins, do the laundry. Everything. Anyways I asked her for a laptop for christmas this year. And she said no. I know I deserve it, and I'll need it next year when I go to college. I've worked so hard since I was 10, and have gotten absolutely nothing. I pay for my own clothes, gas, even most of my own food. I know she has the money, I do the books for the business my parents run, and half the time for the house. My little sister is getting a 60 GB I pod, and she doesn't even do anything! How do i tell my mom that I deserve a stupid laptop after all I've done for her.

Plan B:

You probably do deserve it… but have some dignity and don’t ask again. Stop doing all of the cooking, baby sitting, cleaning, driving the siblings around and let her get a maid for crying out loud. Then with all of this free time, get a part time job and buy the computer yourself. Heck… get a job at Best Buy or somewhere similar and you can get a good discount as well.

Hang in there Cinderella!

I hope I am not offending you by saying that your parents are incredibly selfish. When dealing with selfish people, you have to be very careful about how you request things from them. So here is a better way to do it. Ask your parents if they would consider hiring a sitter so you can pick another job to pay for a laptop. Tell her that this is the only way you can be successful in college and this is something that is a necessity. So much of a necessity that you are willing to work harder to get it. Maybe your mom will see the determination and either give you money towards a laptop or buy you one outright.

Just like that only nicer. "Mom, I really believe that I deserve to get a laptop. After all, I'm going to need it for college next year...and so on. Be nice. Maybe she's saying no so you won't know what yer getting!

don't clean, wash anything,or take your brothers or sister
around.... then she will realize what you really do....
at my house, i went on strike..... didn't do clothes
for two days..... started piling up, cause wouldn't put
them at the proper place....but after the two days,
seeing the clothes laying around, it changed...
