I have a Canon PowerShot A520 and the photo software Picasa. I was wondering if I can delete picuters off my camera and they will still be on my computer (on Picasa), even if I plug the camera back into the computer again. (I am not sure about this because with an iPod, if you delete songs off of iTunes, they get deleted off your iPod the next time you plug your iPod into the computer.)

Weird. I never thought that the Ipod/Itunes formula for controlling music piracy would influence how people use other media and software. But here you have it.

The answer is yes you can delete the pictures from your camera once you've transferred them to your computer. If you're feeling particularly paranoid though, copy the pictures to a CD first and then delete them from your camera. But really, this is unnecessary.

It seems that you are using Picasa's import feature. Most likely if you delete images off your camera the images in Picasa should stay. Note that I have not tried this before.

I typically use Window Explorer to download the images to a new folder from the camera. Then I add the folder to Picasa. If you look in your file browser, you should be able to see your camera as a device you can browse.

After downloading images to a folder it is safe to delete images off the camera.

Please under no circumstances use the "delete" button on cameras. This in undemanding terms deletes your image, yet leaves fragments in the back of that intervene with the favored of the subsequent image. Up load ALL photos on your computing device and delete those you do not prefer to maintain off your computing device not undemanding force. Then format your memory card, this provides a clean internet site on your new photos!
