When you give a quote (unless you're asking who said it!), put a reference!
Who said what you've quoted? Anton LaVey? Aleister Crowley?
What's 06/06/06 got to do with anything - if you're not preoccupied with "09/11"?!?!
666 comes from the Book of the Revelation, in Christian Scripture and is probably related to some numerological code whereby a person's name or title would be converted to a number system and given a value.
It is almost impossible to decipher the code - especially as some manuscripts have '616', not '666'!
However, it is generally accepted as referring to some form of resurrected Gaius NERO[nious] Ahenobbarbus ("Caesar"), usually referred to as just 'Nero'. He was the 1st really bad persecutor of Christians and had been overthrown. There arose a myth, known as 'Nero re-dividus', that he would live again/had not actually died but was in the East waiting to return with an army of "Parthians".
(In "The Revelation" the main 'baddies' come from the East, by the way.)
Different numerology systems and different names/titles could all be manipulated to mean "Nero Caesar", "Neronius Caesar", etc.
The point is that there will arise - according to "The Revelation" - an "Anti-Christ" and a "Beast" in the 'End Times' (though, again, some argue the two are actually the same!). In Rev.3:17-18 are the references to the "Number of the Beast", which state it is "a man's number" and it is "666" (or, as said, '616'!).
As Satan is behind the False Prophet, the beasts (there are two), the "Scarlet Woman"/"Whore of Babylon" and the Anti-Christ (if, as others suppose, he doesn't actually possess him or is in some way 'incarnate' as him), than he is obviously the real baddie!
So, '666' - nothing to do with a date - is a "Satanic symbol"!

Six Threescore and six. It is a number that the AntiChrist will force every human being on the face of the earth to recieve on their hand or forehead after the rapture according to the Bible. Other than that, its just a number! Like highway 666 or route 666 have so significance unless you are superstitious!

It's the Christian "number of the beast" from The Book of Revelations. People just use the number as a source of fear and control, there's nothing special about it. The "Beast" is supposedly one of the counterparts of Satan.
"sweetie baby": you claimed that 666 was the number of man, this is incorrect, the number of man according the bible is 555

In the book of Revelations, 666 is called the mark of the beast. The whole thing is nonsense, of course.

I think that it is usually used as an illustration of the prophecy that all men shall be known as a number, which is already coming too but the #666 is assigned to the beast. The Whore of all the earth. That is where its signifisence lies.

It is just a number, like 13, that has a superstition or belief about it. Remember counting the numbers in every public figure's full name? And to think, this was not written in a modern language at the time...

The number 666 according to the Bible signifies mans state of imperfection to the 3rd degree. Thats it. No drama. 7 means perfection or complete. We fall short of perfection.

It is identified in Revelation as "the number of the beast" who is coming to conquer the world. But written out as a Hebrew numeral it's the name of Emperor Nero. Go figure.
