My sisters birthday is coming up. and i asked her tonight what kind of cake she would like to have for her birthday. so that i could go to the store and pick up a cake mix and bake one for her like i usually do. She jokingly said "Three Musketeer's Cake" (three musketeers is her favorite candy bar). It got me wondering if there was really such a thing as a "Three Musketeer Cake".

I've never heard of it - BUT you could take a regular chocolate cake mix and then add (a little bit) of chopped 3 musketeers to the batter....not a lot, or else it will throw off the whole science of baking. Then, you could make up some chocolate whipped frosting (they do sell box mixes for this from Wilton at many craft stores), or take a can of any light chocolate frosting (look for whipped if you can) and then throw it into a bowl with some beaters and whip the hell out of it. Use that to fill your cake layers - toss on some chopped candy in the middle if you like (chopped small). You can either frost your entire cake with this and garnish with more candy, or you can frost it and then glaze the cake with a darker chocolate frosting.

To glaze - find the largest spatula (preferably a metal one) you can and get your cake as smoothly iced as possible. Never let your spatula touch cake, always make sure it is comfortably covered in icing or else you will end up with crumbs everywhere. Then again, if you're glazing it, then you won't be able to see the crumbs....
Take a can of dark chocolate frosting and nuke it (for no more than 15 sec at a time, stirring in between checks) until it's a warm, pourable consistency. Place frosted cake on wire rack and slowly pour heated icing down over the top. If you pour enough, it should coat the entire cake...just like a candy bar. :)

Place a mini 3 musketeer bar right smack dab on the top of the cake.
