Bubblegum Mouthwash reminds me of my childhood. I used that stuff almost every day until High School, at which point I felt the teenage pressure to use Scope instead.

One thing I will pass on from my parents to my children is having my children help out in the kitchen. By making me part of the meal making process it helped me to have better eating habits as an adult.

My dad was....well let's just say he was challenged in the cooking dept. but he had to make things from time to time. So there is no smell or taste that is better to me than popcorn and Chef-Boyrdee pizza, the homemade kit. And I do not know what he did different but I still can not master it, and I can cook. But those 2 smells and foods I pass on along with the stories and it's a tradition here during movies now. My son LOVES the pizza and popcorn, so everytime he makes popcorn I think of my dad in his chair reading the paper and me raiding his popcorn. I could smell it a mile down the road and rush home.....lol
Thanks for bringing back memories!!!

This will sound weird I'm sure but the smell of my mothers hairspray in the morning. I am a child of the 70s and back then the "grown ups" used plenty of hair spray. The thing I want to pass on to my children that I learned from my parents is respect, honesty, and acceptance of others regardless of their race, religion, disability or economic background

Don't ask me why, but the smell of childhood is sweet tea. I stayed with my great-grandparents before I went to school and even when I was in school, I got off of the bus there. So, I remember my grandmother making a lot of sweet tea. The great thing is that she's still alive and even though her and my granddaddy aren't as able to keep my daughter the way the did me, they can't wait for us to visit. I want my daughter to know her great-great grandparents. They are the sweetest people you could ever meet.

It's a smell that's hard to describe. The best way to describe it for me is - for girls i guess you'll get this - the way my strawberry shortcake doll smelled. It was this sweet smell - kind of like a berry smell, but kind of mixed with plastic. Every now and then when i open up new plasic items i'll get a whiff and it takes me back :) That and the smell of construction paper - reminds me of my light bright and that black paper it used to have the letter printed on.

There are lots of smells that remind me of my childhood. Like cinnamon reminds me of christmas. Old Spice my grandpa. Saw dust reminds me of my dad which is weird cause he's an electrician. And diesel fuel reminds me of the fair. One thing my parents did that I will pass on to my children is the roast beef and yorkshire pudding on sundays.

The smell of a new box of crayons always reminds me of the first day of school. I always had a new box of crayons, pencils, paper, paste, ruler and a pink eraser.
I love to color and I have passed this passion onto my
daughter who, at age 15, just begged me to buy her
a coloring book because it has a dog on the cover. I hope
a part of her never grows up.

the smell of play doh reminds me of when i was a kid. i wish i could pinpoint one certain thing that i did when i was a kid that i will pass on to my children. i am trying to pass on everything i can!! The most specific one is that I was allowed to have farm animals when i was a child and I now try to let my kids have whatever pets they want. when my daughter turned 4, she wanted chickens, so we biult a coop and we now have chickens.

My grandfather used to own a carpet store, and my sister and i used to go there and play on the rolls of carpets. To this day I remember that smell and STILL LOVE IT!!
My parents always had books, read to us, encouraged us to read. That's what I do with my own kids.
