I took growth hormone injections at the age of 11 and 12. I grew an extra 4 inches. I am over 5 ft 1 and I would have been much shorter. You have to take the shots before puberty to have an effect. Your bones close after then and can not grow much more.

Well...if you're a late on..er...becoming a 'man' ...ahem...then yes...it could be done. It doesn't work like "ON AGE 18! NO MORE GROWING!" It matters how long till you 'sprout'.
