Honestly, I love when people get their newborn's footprint.

What about a scroll with you newborn's name, date of birth, time of birth and weight? You could even have the footprints done at the bottom of the scroll. It would look like a birth announcement.

I have my son's footprint on my stomach, and will be adding my next child's on the other side. It's cute and completely personal. The best part for me was that because my artist did it almost entirely with a shading needle, I hardly felt a thing and it healed REALLY quickly.
Otherwise, maybe a stork carrying a bundle, with a name banner?

i think to get a replica of the footprints taken at birth is the best thing i've ever seen, you can even have it 'minimized' if you dont want a big tattoo

Last night I got my 1st tattoo, my Son's (birth) footprint on top of my foot. I love it but my Husband hates it. He says it's not sexy. I didn't do it for him, so I don't care what he thinks. I LOVE IT And it means so much to me.

Have a picture of their face done and maybe put the date of birth some where around it.

I have an anklet with to ID bands - one with my son's name and one with my granddaughters name - there is also a heart charm that hangs down...
