Danes also seem to age faster than the other large breeds i have owned. It seems that as soon as the grow out of the puppy stage they get old. But seeing that she is only 2 it may be that the pups took a bit out of her. Take her to the vet, get a good multivit for her and she may regain her colour. My liver and tan doberman got very ill and started to lose colour in patches( she lost her hair and some of the regrowth was paler than the rest). As her health improved, she shed her winter coat, the rest came in back as her beautiful normal dark red. Are your danes gums nice and dark pink coz if they are pale she is anaemic and will need iron, calcium and vit c supplements. That will probably fix the problem but take her to the vet anyway to make sure its not something else brought on by her pregnancy.I hope this helps and your dane is healthy anyway coz they are personally my fave breed and they are all gorgeous to me no matter what they look like.

I can't say for sure since I don't know your girl's pedigree, but a lot of black Danes are from Harlequin parents (one or both). That being the case, she could have always had the spots on her skin, you just couldn't see them. Could it just be that her hair is getting thinner?

When my Dane female finished nursing her puppies, last year, she went almost totally bald! She was a Harley to begin with, but to see her skin was rather worrisome. (although not a bad thing since it was still so hot at the time.) Within a month her hair grew back and she's, now, as gorgeous as she ever was.

In time, she may be solid black again. Or maybe not.

It has nothing to do with the fact she had puppies (although she should have been older, health tested (not simple vet exams) and been show/evaluted to see if she was of breed standard before she was bred) It has to do with genetics. Some Dane lines get gray early, as early as 15- 18 months of age.

This happens because she has lost a large amount of blood give her milk and take her to the vet so they can recommend a medicine for her to consume.

Don't all mothers get gray. Nothing to worry about.
