I am a very good looking eighteen year old... voted by my class, but it seems no girl approached me? All i get is smiles and looks. I walk with swagger, gota cute smile, but i will admit im shy. Funny isnt it.. can girls tell? How do girls know these things?

There are a couple reasons. I for one (even though people have even said I should go into modeling) am usually too insecure to approach a good looking guy. I think this is one of the main reasons why girls won't approach you.
Another reason is that a lot of girls expect the guy to make the first move. The way I was brought up, the guy should make the first move and if he doesn't, then that means he wasn't that interested to begin with. And even talking to my girlfriends, if a guy does not make an effort to pursue me, their advise is usually to just forget him bc he is not that into me.

Josephine, certainly guys are sometimes more aware of great looking girls and often figure that they don't stand a chance with them. Often though many of these guys are the nicest guys and just shy. I suppose that is why we sometimes see not so attractive people with others who we consider very attractive, they just have enough faith in themselves to approach these beautiful woman. But often guys know that you do not have the reputation of giving it up for free or very easily so they won't bother with you, not just because they think you are too good for them but also because they are only after one thing and are aware that you aren't giving what they are looking for. And a lot of fella's have dreams of getting together with a gal who sounds and looks just like you when they are ready to settle down, but not while they are out trying to sow their wild oats. Keep your morals and values as they will not do you wrong as you grow and mature. But if you decide to become one of the other girls that are getting all the guys then this reputation will follow you into adulthood etc. You will meet a nice fella and it will probably happen when you are least expecting or looking for it as it will be very natural. Believe in yourself and best of luck.

I wouldn't approah a guy if he was good looking. I mean yeah, maybe I'd smile at him, but nothing more. A lot of girls aren't necessarily looking for someone attractive. What matters more to us (or at least me) is a guy's personality. I generally don't see guys and say, "hey, he's cute, lemme go make friends with him and maybe it'll turn into more." I make friends with people first, and it progresses from there.
You being shy probably has a lot to do with it. Once you come out of your shell, I can guarantee you'll get a lot more female attention.

The rejection I am assuming. I can only speak for myself but here is my viewpoint::
If a guy doesn't have enough balls to come talk to me and then how will he address any conflicts we have in the future? Will he just not talk to me about them?
I'm not sure why I feel that way but its what I've always said. A lot of girls just want a man to be a man and they should be the ones doing that. Its not WRONG if a girl does it but I just think that's your job... hop to it.

see I always see it as the guys job to approach the girl especially if he is a good looking guy. If you get those smiles and looks then go up to them and start a conversation then you will get that advance that you were looking for,

There are multiple reasons for this. 1. Maybe you come off as a jerk to people. (just guessing) 2. They could be to shy. 3. They don't really know you because you are shy. Hope I helped :)

I get a total meltdown when I see a cute guy, or gorgeous guy I should say..can't look or speak more than what is spoken to me...
I get the same response with guys, they make jerks when they're around me...
but one doesn't...not around me...he's a sweetheart ...we scare each other....we're too much alike..never knew how comfortable he makes me..he's a keeper

it woman's insight,no actually we pay more addition to body language even if you think you don't show your shy you do,and girls could think that there not good looking enough to come up to you to ask you out

You need to approach the girl that you find attractive most girls don't want to approach guys because they think its the guys job or they don't want to look "desperate". Now-days guys don't say the old fashioned "will you go out with me?" so i got some sites that will help you... Good luck

they are probably scared they will be regected. . . unfortunately mose cute guys know it and are really mean . . . so idk give the girls that look a reassuring smile and they will probably think wow he's not that bad maybe he'd be a cool guy to get to know!
