My haemoglobin levels are extremely low (docotr said im lucky to be walking) if they get any worse what will happen. Can u die from having such low haemoglobin levels?

Yes, if your blood count gets low enough you could die. However, unless you are very unhealthy or bleeding rapidly that is unlikely. You must follow-up closely with your doctor and find out why you have anemia. Anemia is not a disease, but rather a sign of a disease. It could be something as simple as heavy menstrual periods or bleeding from a recent operation, to something more sinister.

Treatment of anemia for people who are otherwise healthy and stable is iron therapy. For sicker people, transfusion and/or drugs like Procrit may be in order.

I would go to a medical website and ask these types of questions. Listen to your doctor, ask him/her these questions as they are trained to help you.....not folks here on Yahoo.
Keep a notepad and write down everything you can think of and call your doctor Monday. Take good care!
